Transition Year
Transition Year is a unique programme designed to provide students with a broad range of academic, practical, and experiential learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Throughout the year, students engage in diverse modules and subjects, gaining valuable insights that assist them in making informed decisions about their Leaving Certificate subject choices and future career paths.
Additionally, students are encouraged to develop essential skills through various initiatives, including the TY Leadership Programme. As part of this programme, they mentor and support first-year students, fostering key competencies such as leadership, role modelling, planning and organisation, teamwork, and personal development. This experience not only enhances their confidence and communication skills but also cultivates independence and a strong sense of responsibility.

5th Year
As students enter the Senior Cycle, they embark on the two-year Leaving Certificate programme, developing strong study habits and a consistent approach to learning. Throughout this crucial stage, they receive structured support from their Year Head and Link Deputy, ensuring they stay on track academically and personally.
Individual one-on-one meetings provide students with valuable opportunities to set goals, reflect on their academic progress, and plan for their future career paths. Career guidance plays a pivotal role in 5th Year, equipping students with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their further education and career aspirations.
6th Year
6th Year represents the culmination of a student’s secondary school journey, with a strong focus on academic achievement, personal growth, and future aspirations. As students prepare for their Leaving Certificate examinations, they are encouraged to adopt disciplined study routines, refine their critical thinking skills, and demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges. Support structures, including guidance counselling and teacher mentorship, play a crucial role in helping students maximize their potential. Beyond academics, 6th Year also fosters a sense of independence and responsibility, equipping students with the confidence and skills necessary for higher education, apprenticeships, or the workforce. This final year is not only a time of academic attainment but also a period of transition, where students take meaningful steps toward their future ambitions.
