Final Score: Creagh College 2:13 - Carnew 3:10
Our junior hurlers kicked off their championship campaign with a home match against Carnew last week. Given Carnew's past performance, winning by seven points in the South Leinster final two years ago, we knew it would be a challenging encounter.
The team made a strong start, scoring within the first minute and maintaining excellent ball possession throughout the first half. By halftime, Creagh led by nine points with a score of 1:07 to Carnew’s 0:01. Jamie Kennedy and Faolán Corbett were instrumental, contributing all the first-half scores.
The second half saw Carnew mount a fierce comeback, scoring points from all angles and benefiting from a powerful wind to their backs. They netted three late goals, leveling the match. However, Creagh fought tenaciously and managed to secure a draw.
